Cuttyhunk CAN Program Assistant RFQ

 

We are delighted to offer for a second consecutive year a program assistant position.. 

Applicants are asked to submit a letter of interest; resumé; and the names and contact information of two referenced to 
CCAN Steering Committee c/o gosnold.cap@gmail.com

Applications will be reviewed after May 5. The position will remain open until filled.

 

The successful candidate will ideally have these traits and skills or have an interest in acquiring them..  
 

•  interest in climate change, sea level rise and environmental issues

•  love of Cuttyhunk

•  creative, enthusiastic
•  keen to  publicize  CCAN programs and one of its core missions -  encouraging Gosnold-Cuttyhunk responsible environmental citizenship

•  strong written and spoken communication skills
•  collaboration skills as well as personal initiative

•  ability to research climate change information

•  Social Media savvy - Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, 

•  familiarity with Cuttyhunk organizations (e.g. Cuttyhunk Yacht Club, Library, Historical Society, Shellfish Farms, Fishing Club, etc.)

•  basic design skills and knowledge of Canva or other simple graphics programs or willingness to learn.

 

The successful candidate will:

•  work with public programs, 

•  assist with publicity and implementation
•  assist vermiculture and composting pilot program

•  assist with distribution of public information

•  help with coordination of visiting speakers

•  help with planning and production of an August Island Clean-up event
•  be on island a majority of the summer season

 

Hours are flexible and can be combined with other on island summer employment.
 
The hourly wage for 10 hours a week on average for approximately 10 weeks is competitive..
